After the birth of my baby girl, I got excited about dressing her up in cute little tutus. I quickly found out how expensive they can be in stores. That’s when I decided to learn how to make a tutu skirt myself.

I looked everywhere online to find the best video tutorials out there. I am a visual person so I like to see how things are done.

Free Videos… Not that great.

I watched all the free videos from YouTube, but I wanted better instructions that would show me step by step how to make a tutu. I found a great DVD called How To Make Tutus Revealed. This DVD has the best techniques to show you how to make a tutu skirt in no time!

Click here if you want to skip over to Amazon site

I really like the fact that the videos are on DVD, and I can reference them anytime without having to search the net for more instructions. I learned several ways to make really cute no sew tutu skirts. Plus, it is great to sit in my living room in my comfy chair while I learn how to make a tutu skirt.

I review products and only promote the items I think people will like. I really enjoyed the step-by-step instructions on the different techniques for making tutus.  It makes learning how to make a tutu skirt fun!

Why not sell your tutus skirts! Make some money at home.

If you are like me and budget conscious, making your own tutus make perfect sense! But have you considered maybe making tutu skirts and selling them?

-Check your local area for flea markets (the type that have booths you can rent and leave your product there for them to sell).
-Or even a craft mall that has space you can rent (maybe like a section of a wall).
-Craft fairs are always popular places, especially the ones held at schools.
-If you have a garage sale, why not have a table with cute new tutus! Many garage sale shoppers are mothers of young children.
-Look around your area for local retail shops that accept local merchandise.
-Of course, also check out the consignment stores!!! I know my area has tons of children consignment stores. I have actually purchased knitted hats for my daughter at a great price!
-Also, maybe there is a boutique in your area that would love to sell your tutus.
-On-line stores might be a great place (ebay and etsy.com)
-Advertise on Craigslist (be sure to include photos)
-Word of mouth! Let your friends know, maybe even give them one to show off to their friends/co-workers/family. You’d be surprised how well that works!

Who can make a tutu skirt?

For those of you with older daughters, why not teach them how to make a tutu skirt! What a great project for you and your daughter to do together. Or why not have a tutu making party and invite a few of her friends. What a fun project for everyone. You can actually pre-cut the tulle in many different colors to help the project go faster.

Also, what a great craft project for a girl scout troop. I was a girl scout leader for my daughter’s troop, she is now 18, and I was always searching for something fun for the girls to do! I know my girls would have had a blast!

Get your daughter involved and see what cool ideas she creates!
